Crossroads caring for carers Huntingdon set up the young Carers Project in March 2001, with funding from the National Lottery for 3 years, to support young carers in the Huntingdonshire area.

The project has grown at a phenomenal rate, with over 80 young carers being in contact with the project through groups, 1:1 work, Club Sandwich newsletters and all day outings.

We currently have the following groups

·        Teenage Carers  - Age 15-18

Meets fortnightly @ Huntingdon

·        Middle Group  - Age 11 –15

            Meets fortnightly @ St Neots

·        Middle Group – Age 11 –15

            Meets monthly @ Huntingdon

·        Junior Carers – Age 8 –12

            Meets monthly @ Huntingdon

We are planning to have more all Day Events, especially during the holidays, which gives the groups the opportunities to get together more often for fun filled days out together!

The groups are at their maximum capacity, however we do have a waiting list and all day events are open to all young carers not just those attending groups.
